This was one of the nicest places we stayed during our trip to Portugal. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a river view room which provided a spectacular view of the Duro. Enjoyed sitting out on the balcony The staff was very friendly and helpful Patricia and Rafela made great suggestions for touring Quintas and even made reservations for us at these places. Paulo gave great recommendations for dinner and was very helpful Parking was on the property and free. The breakfast had many choices and tables provided a view of the river We would definitely stay here again

Swimming pool; our host kindly stored our bicycles in an outbuilding. Nice breakfast (although a bit late for us - 0830).

We stayed in the new modern building, and the room was very spacious, as was the bathroom. Bathroom included a soaking tub and separate shower. The room also included it's own little outdoor sitting area which was perfect for just 2 people with views onto vineyards across the valley. They had oranges from their plentiful orange trees on the property in our room when we arrived, and more available at the desks around the building - SO DARN GOOD! We did the tour and tasting (which is complimentary for guests of the Quinta) which was really nerdy (in the best way possible) - they've set up a virtual reality view of start to finish in making wine: picking grapes, cleaning them, processing, etc. I had a massage as well which was just ok; i'll admit that i'm more of a deep tissue lots of pressure sort of person, and this was more swedish style massage with some pressure. FYI the 75 min massage offered isn't described on the 'menu' very well: the masseuse told me that it's a body scrub with grape seeds, followed by a shower, then lastly a massage. Otherwise: definitely recommend.
Offering a hilltop location 50 metres from Douro River, Vistadouro is a 3-bedroom house in Peso da Régua. It features a furnished balcony with river views and free WiFi access.
We loved the welcome and helpful staff. The room we had and views were excellent. we were able to extend our stay to go on a riverboat and steam train as well as visit Pocinho. The wine bar opposite the Museum was excellent and the Museum well worth a visit.

The Douro Valley is beautiful. Our stay was too short.
The Douro Valley is beautiful. Our stay was too short. The big thing I would encourage travelers to do is to make reservations and tour plans prior to visit. Wineries are often booked for bigger tours and not accepting drop ins.

We loved our stay. The family and staff are amazing! I can't emphasize how welcome we felt. The dinner was delicious and the port/wine parings lovely. They also arranged taxis for us on two occasions. Would love to come back.

Very friendly welcome but took a few minutes to gain access to the property. It was a 25 minute walk to the station but taxis readily available and affordable. Close to supermarkets.
Tio Manel restaurant in Regua was excellent - in terms of food quality, service and pricing.
Boat trips from Quayside to Pinhao and from there to a selection of Quintas. The Croft tour and tasting was very good - informative and good value for money.

It was the height of the tourist season (middle of August) and there was also a public holiday. The town was very busy and put quite a strain on restaurants and bars. Previous visits have been off season and the town copes a lot better, providing a more relaxed experience.
Everything about this place is amazing and beyond expectations. The host Margarida has done an exceptional job at renovating a family home to welcome you. We loved her genuine friendliness, advice and honest chats about living and growing up in Portugal. Her brother, Luis has an informative, unique and tasty wine tour experience on the property. Don't forget to book this. The quality of sleep and breakfast is top star! and the wines and olive oil are so good too.
Good place if you are looking for 1-2 nights stay being on more affordable side. Providing all necessary basics, with just enough comfort to recharge for next day. Sidenote: if you choose economy room with private bathroom those nice views on the Douro river will be accessible form the common area only but those are better enjoyed outside anyway :)
After leaving Porto and riding the Douro Valley train decided to stop in Peso da Régua for a few days so I booked at Vale do Rodo. The owners are not on site so need to call to meet but are pleasant and welcoming. It's a very nice guesthouse with clean rooms comfortable bed and strong wifi. I can easily recommend Vale do Rodo to any traveller!
This is a hidden gem in the Regua region. The whole property (the inn, views, vines, trees) could be from a novel! Each window was an amazing view, and each morning we had a lovely breakfast. We also had access to a small kitchen, which made picnicking on the property a must! Great location, near river, bridge and train station.
The incredible view from the hotel and from the rooms, the comfort and decoration of the common area, the kindness of the staff, namely Salete. The swimming pool is also amazing, and the breakfast was delicious. you can seat for hours in the room’s balcony to enjoy the view of the Douro and Régua drinking a property’s wine.
Owner and staff were exceptionally accommodating. Facility was very clean with a spectacular View. One of the best wine tours we have experienced at their Vineyard. A short taxi ride from the train station and you are in a beautiful setting. Unconditionally recommended. Best part of our 2 week trip to Portugal.
The hotel is located in a very well renovated historical building, (a great work shown by video in the common room) just next to public transportation (Régua Train Station and Bus Stop). The staff was very friendly, kind and attentive The breakfast is absolutely fantastic.
Amazing place! Beautiful architecture and lovely attentive service. I loved intimate feeling all over the hotel, public areas are really nice. And fabulous breakfast! Oh, and Antonio, wine tour guide was super nice and really loved his job. I would love to go back one day.
Great location with spectacular views. This is a very well maintained classic hotel. Comfortable room and bed. Excellent bathroom.
Parking, between the hotel and the river, was straightforward. and spaces were big enough.
Helpful and friendly staff.
Good breakfast spread
We were made really welcome by Ana, the co-owner, who did everything she could to make our stay special.
This boutique hotel is beautifully furnished with access to a lovely sitting room with terrace and fantastic view to the Douro river.
Delicious breakfasts
I loved the location. Very closed to the Douro River and supermarket for snacks. There is a express laundry across the street. Staff is AMAZING!! Ana and Luiza were so kind and efficient and sweet. Everything's was very clean.
The staff was very kind and friendly. The tour and dinner were EXCELLENT. These might have been the best meals I ate the entire time I was in Portugal. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious and lovely.
Super clean and spacious flat. Very well equipped and in a great location. The host was super friendly and left us a bottle of white wine as welcome gift. Recommended to anyone passing by the Douro valley
Our week stay at Quinta da Estrada was the best. Amazing views, great service from Luis and Helga, delicious meals, space, comfort, greatly located halfway between Vila Real and Regua.
Spacious room. Very nice design with cube inside the room, maintaining a complete open space.
The restructuring of the whole hotel was done with respect for the old building.
