Located in a quiet and pretty residential area of Cáceres, this elegant hotel offers free Wi-Fi and chic rooms. The outdoor pool is set within gardens. I had booked quite a few overnight stays, on a road trip to Portugal. all of the hotels were four stars. This was one of the few, which lived up to it’s rating.

DON JULIO is set in Perales del Puerto and features a shared lounge and a terrace. With a garden, the 4-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. The lady who I assume owns the property was extremely friendly and helpful, a lovely woman. The room and entire building was very pleasant, very traditional but very good quality. If I am in the area again I won't hesitate to book myself in here.

Located in Valverde del Fresno, 46 km from Monsanto Castle, Hábitat Cigüeña Negra provides accommodation with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. The hotel is located in a farm, which is beautiful and relaxing. The room is clean and spacious, plus the window view is spectacular as you can see the farm, and it is bright with the natural light coming in. We also had a wonderful spa experience, we were provided with water and tea. There's sauna and other area to relax your feet. The massage for 20 minutes costs 40 euros, but you also have other options. The breakfast is also good. They are very accommodating and they provide you what you need. Overall, the hotel is worth the price. It's clean, warm and cozy. You can walk around the farm or hike in the nearest areas, or drive to other towns.

The bathroom was good; it takes a bit of time before the hot water comes through. Breakfast was exceptional, the home made bread, commented on by others, is very very good. We had dinner there; there are a number of tasting menus as well as a la carte. We selected from the a la carte. Food was very fresh, cooked to order. Car parking is on the street outside the hotel, but given this is a very small village, it was safe and not a problem. Our host was very helpful, and whilst English is not his first language, it was more than adequate when combined with our limited Spanish. We would most certainly stay there again and eat there.
