Situated on Madalena, Pico Island, Caravelas is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on 3 sides and overlooks Faial Island. It features an outdoor pool, a 24-hour reception, and car rental. We had a nice and comfortable room with a little basket of fruits for your welcome. The room had a nice balcony with a view to the harbour and Faial. In a minute you can reach the harbour and the city centre. There is a cleaning service everyday (if you need it). The breakfast buffet is really big and has a lot of offerings (they even had soy milk and milk without lactose; lots of bread, ham, cheese, cereals with different seeds, lots of fruits, many cakes, eggs, beans and so on...). The staff is very polite. We are not used to big hotels and normally stay at smaller/simpler places so we missed nothing at all.

The location is excellent, just around the corner from the ferry, a lovely ocean swimming pool and walking distance to wine tasting and restaurants. The apartment was very nicely decorated, heaps of storage, great air conditioning, well equipped and generally very comfortable and great value for money. There was even a communal washing machine that Patricia kindly said we could use.

You will be surprised that it looks even better than on pictures. Appartments are super clean, equipped with all you need and have huge beds where you sleep like a baby. You will for sure like homemade breakfasts on the terrase with a view. We recommend to try dinner prepared by the host! It's really worth it. If we are back to Pico, we will definitely stay at this place again!
